You mentioned David Baldacci. Who is he? I don't believe I've ever heard of him...
Admin Reply:
Hello, Elizabeth!  This will be David Baldacci’s first middle-grade novel, I believe.   He is a hugely best-selling writer of mysteries and legal thrillers for adults, and he was just dying to write a 39 CLUES book.  We’re thrilled that he is.  You can read about him [pl-popup content="http://davidbaldacci.com/" title="David Baldacci's website" width="1000" height="640"]at this link[/pl-popup].

I haven't actually seen the cover, but i can make an intelligent guess. On the CVV mission selection screen, you have "Mission 1: The Medusa Plot" and the text is in yellow, like the book. "Mission 2: A king's ransom" is written in blue, and dead of night is in green. The "Mission 4: Classified" for book 4 is written in purple. I simply thought this must correspond to the cover, and that they have it set down already.

Aha!  Good sleuthing.  I truly don’t know the answer, but that sure makes good sense.  Will look forward to seeing if you’re right!

Peter, what is the next 39 Clues book you are going to write?
🙂
Admin Reply:
Hi, Michael!  Well, there’s THE DEAD OF NIGHT, which comes out March 6, but that’s it for the CAHILLS VS. VESPERS series for me!  The last three books are in the very capable hands of Roland Smith, Linda Sue Park, and David Baldacci.  I have a bunch of incredibly awesome other projects just ahead in the next few years, so stay tuned!

Hello, Sir Lerangis! Can I suggest that my name would be included in The 39 Clues series? Haha, this is so absurd, but I would be very glad if you would agree to this suggestion. 😛 I'm an Ekat, by the way. 😀
Thanks, and more power to you, as well as the other authors!
P.S. Say hi to Ms. Jude Watson for me! 🙂
Admin Reply:
Hello, Reneilda!  It’s not absurd at all to ask, but my book was written long ago and I have no say over the other authors’ books.  Thanks for the kind words, and I will pass along your good wishes to Jude.

Oh, I also wanted to point out how you wrote the third book in both the 39 Clues and Cahills vs. Vespers. Was that a coincidence, or was it planned?
If you don't get to this or my other message, it's okay. I know you must be very busy.
Admin Reply:
Hmm … Fate?  Coincidence?  A game of eeny-miney-moe in the secret book-assigning caverns of Scholastic?  I’ll never know!
Elizabeth Atya wrote on February 2, 2012 at 4:29 AM
Hi, I had an idea...
Maybe you could have them see a part of a message or something... It could say this:
A drink with jam and bread+fsh=A5
A drink with jam and bread is from the song in A Sound of Music, and it is:
Ti, a drink with jam and bread.
So... I was thinking it could mean the letter T.
Fsh is from a joke I know about a fish without an eye, so it could be the letter I.
The last part, when flipped upside down, could be v2,
So, basically, the message could say:
TI=v2
TI could be the initials of Vesper 2. Unless you already have a Vesper 2...
It really doesn't matter all that much, I just wanted to tell you my idea.
Thanks for reading!

Wow — very inventive! Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth.

Ooooh I'm quite excited!!! Just revisited the 39 Clues website. Love the new organisation of the "my cards" viewer. So easy to see what you still have to do! Also, I see that book 4 must be already moving forward (its cover is purple!!!! like the emperors code) Can't wait for your book either (march 6 cannot come soon enough!
Admin Reply:
Glad you like the new stuff, and I can’t wait for March 6 either!  (Where did you see the Book 4 cover?  I haven’t seen it yet!)
Catching Aqua 1 wrote on February 1, 2012 at 6:04 PM
hey someone told me atticus is okay and they read a preview of THE DEAD OF NIGHT. Do you know possibly where?
Admin Reply:
Well, there is a preview that you can access on [pl-popup content="http://www.the39clues.com/thedeadofnight" title="" width="1000" height="640"]this page[/pl-popup] (scroll down to where it says “Get a sneak peek”), but it’s only the very beginning of the book, so I wouldn’t be so sure about Atticus’s fate!

Hi Peter i have there questions for you.
1. Do you know if they are making the movies and where there going to be shoot at.
2. Do you know if they have a set date on when there coming out.
3. Will you be going on tour for your book and if yes will you be coming to Sioux City.
Admin Reply:
Hello, Ryan!  Alas, we don’t yet have the info for #1 and #2.  But as for #3, yes, I will be going on tour, and when I have my schedule I will post it on my website and also on the Cahill Message Boards.  So keep an eye out, OK?

OH WAIT! Did you mean the notes? I cannot reveal any 39 Clues spoilers, no matter how beautifully you ask — sorry! This includes anything about Amy, Ian, Evan, etc. That?
Admin Reply:
Yes, that’s it!
Catching Aqua 1 wrote on January 31, 2012 at 10:29 PM
Oh tell me when you've read RAPID FIRE BOOK 5: TURBULENCE because i have some questions about it. About Teodora.

Thanks

Hey Peter. I did not find anything suspicious on the top page.

Blog, About Peter, About the Books, Guestbook, Author Visits and Contact.

You have more details or what?
Admin Reply:
I was referring to my message, especially the part about spoilers, underscored and marked with red diamonds.

Oh, and when you're at it, can you reveal to me the code in THE VIPERS NEST when you have to keep on flipping to find the code? I tried it but i dont get it. Thank you.

Oh and do you speak Mandarin?
Admin Reply:
You’re talking about the page codes, on top of the page numbers?  It’s not a flip code.  You have to read the story carefully, and you’ll pick up the method of decoding.  Hint: it’s a scene that involves Hamilton and a mirror.
Catching Aqua 1 wrote on January 31, 2012 at 10:05 PM
hey, im back! 1. Do you know the highest agent rank? And do you know what mission 4 would be called once your book comes out? Do you have anything that you could tell me to help my fellow Tomases?
Admin Reply:
I’m coming up blank on this one.

Hi Uncle Peter! I'm Erin. I just wanna say that I love your books! Especially The 39 Clues. I have a couple questions for you.
1. What do you think about Sinead and Hamilton?
2. From all writers that you worked with, who was the most inspirational for you and why?
3. I know this is a silly question, but what exactly are you hiding beneath that baseball cap of yours?
That is all. Stay awesome Uncle Peter~
Admin Reply:
Hello, Erin!  Thanks for the lovely note.  I have answers for all:

Owing to the fact that I (and the other authors) are the ones who pull Sinead’s and Hamilton’s strings, I wonder what they think of us!
Rick because he signs books so fast and is a great all-around guy, Gordon because he’s even a bigger kid than I am, Jude because we are the only two born in New York City and we make each other laugh uncontrollably, Linda Sue because I’ve only met her a couple of times and feel like we’re already old friends, Patrick because he has awesome energy and ideas, Margaret because she managed to take the big 9-book chaos we all made and spin it into gold.  And Roland, even though I’ve never met him, because he’s part Greek and therefore a very nice person.
Two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.

Hey!!! I LOVE your books, they ROCK!!! Is there going to be a 39 clues movie?
Admin Reply:
Thanks, Cassidy!  I sure hope there’s going to be a movie.  It’s in the hands of the movie studio Dreamworks, so we’re waiting to hear about their progress.

Yeah man! I'm gonna track down the Vespers and I want to say that the books you write are awesome. they've all been interesting.
1. Why does it take about 3 months for the next book to always come out? I would be bored to death also knowing that i've haven't got much info on the Vespers;i only uncovered 6 and 5. Not the leader, the mole, the scientist or the shield. I wonder if it is possible that you could give me anything about them? ANYTHING!
2. In The Dead of Night, what happens to Atticus? Could you give me a hint? Also, i'd be happy to bring you the RapidFire books, only if i could print them or something. Can you give me your adress?
Admin Reply:
Thank you!  The books come out every three months because … well, it takes a long time to write books!  That’s why we put out the RapidFire books, to fill in some gaps.  As for #2, check out the top of this page.  If I say a word, I am toast.  And being toast isn’t too much fun, although I confess I’ve never tried it.  And thanks for the offer, but I do have the books already, lucky me!
Catching Aqua 1 wrote on January 30, 2012 at 9:57 PM
Oh. Okay. 1. Is it possible to get Madrigal when you're doing the test? 2. Is there anyways you can get replicator cards because i just need to collect a few more clues so i can complete Mission 10. Then i'll only have to finish Mission 3 in the Vespers section. Anyways, to prove you're not a Vesper, lets see if you can tell me anything about Vesper 1 that doesn't include anything in the Vespers Rising Handbook (Vespers). If you can tell me something, You are proven Cahill. If not, it means you want us to lose, then you're a Vesper.
Admin Reply:
You ask difficult questions, Catching Aqua 1, and you drive a hard bargain!  I will have to track down a copy of the Handbook!
Katerina wrote on January 30, 2012 at 1:13 PM
I know you can't reveal anything and i respect it but could you please tell me ONLY if something different is going to happen between Amy-Ian-Evan?I only need you to answer with a yes or an no 🙂 If you can't do that, then sorry for interrupting you ....And continue your amazing work :')
Love <3, Katerina
P.S. Sorry if had any spelling mistakes but i'm not English or American so i don't know the language very well.
Admin Reply:
Hello, Katerina.  I think your English is great!  And I must apologize that I can’t reveal anything in advance, but thank you for your kind words!
