OOPS! I forgot, but my brother said (I fully agree with him) That you guys shopuld bring Irina back from the grave. That would be interesting!

It would be more than interesting, considering her physical state.  I leave all future plot considerations into the capable hands of Linda Sue Park and David Baldacci!

Never thought about that one! Good idea. Maybe next year.. anyway, I got this awesome scene idea from a fountain with lights in it. I'm having a terrible time working it out, but hopefully it will come to me. meantime, I can work on my poems. Here's one of them. (My first and favorite)
Autumn
I love the autumn with her refreshing breeze
That stirs the branches of colorful trees.
When autumn brings her beautiful days,
We should enjoy them and give God praise.

What do you think? I hope you like it. If my book gets published, I hope that you can buy a copy. if it does, and you do, I think that there my be a surprise in there for you! my friend is writing a book on the Jewish Holocaust, a terrible time, but it intrigues me. ~TempestEagle5

That’s beautiful!  Thanks so much for sharing it.  I’m enjoying seeing the leaves in our neighborhood just starting to turn.  What a cool coincidence that both you and the previous writer are such poets!

Hey Peter!

He does have poodles! Three. Lola, Missy and Raw. Now what do you say? And I have two questions. Are you poetic? Like, if you really wanted to could you make up a poem? I made one up for my story on the MB but I don't think it's that good. And, why are book titles capitalized? I've been wondering for a while. Anyway, I gotta run!

Bye Peter!
Admin Reply:
Aha!  This Ian Doppelgänger situation gets curiouser and curiouser!  As for poetry, yes, I wrote poems when I was younger and still do occasionally.  A poem (in the form of a sestina) figures prominently in my new YA novel, SOMEBODY, PLEASE TELL ME WHO I AM.  Book titles are generally put in italics with the first letter of each word capitalized, except for articles (a, an, the), prepositions with fewer than five letters or so (in, to, with, by, etc.), and conjunctions (and, but, etc.).  Mainly I think this is just a convention, a visual signal that these words are indeed titles.  For this guestbook I use ALL CAPS for titles because the default text of these posts is already in italics — so I need something else to signify a title, and that seems to do the trick.

What's with the poll on T39C website about "Who do you think Amy will end up with?", I forgot the exact question but it's more or less like that. Would Amy really end up with the one who got the highest vote? And do the authors of T39C come together for a discussion to what's gonna happen to the next books , or do they just go with the flow?

Cheers,
Alexis.
Admin Reply:
Hi, Alexis! I haven't seen that poll. I think it's just for fun. We don’t crowd-source the book plots, as interesting as that might be.  And we writers don’t get together to discuss future books, ever.  The lunch bill would be too high.  We all report to our editor, who makes sure everyone is updated about all new ideas, before her head explodes.

I hate my life. So far. Okay, so I've had a stressful week. My BFF, the one I keep telling you about? So, she's moving to Texas next month! AAAAAAAAAHH! Oh, yeah, and she already knows two authors, and she's living near a beach. She is going to move two hours away from where we normally go to visit our grandparents who live there. Phooey. Not fair. The only GOOD part of my week, (besides church and reading) was bowling. I joined a bowling league. I have two great friends there. The one that I'm on the team with is fun. We named our team the "Gutter Girls." Catchy title, huh? I was coming up with all these crazy names, like "Banana Splits" "Lightning Strikes" and "Bowling Bombs" Anything to do with bowling. It was hilarious. My other friend, My teammates sister, well, her reaction when I told her was "WHAT? Rachel liked THAT?!! It was a hallmark moment. Also, I am crazy, because I recently got the only pet I'm allowed. A pet rock. : ) Silly me. I LOVE it, though. Her name is Roxanne, and she came all the way from Gatlinburg. I've had her since 2011, of course, that was before she became my pet. Oh, I have to go. Until later, ~TempestEagle5
Admin Reply:
Well, good luck with your new pet.  At least the cleanup will be minimal.  Sorry to hear about your BFF, and as for your bowling team name, it could be worse.  You could have chosen the name Pinheads.

Whoa. It's been ages since I visited any page related to 39 Clues and now all the emotions are hitting me like a freight truck.

My copy of Shatterproof is still somewhere on its way to my house and since I couldn't wait until god-knows-when, I went ahead and read me friend's ebook. Just three words after reading it: What. The. Heck.

I must say, Roland Smith entered The 39 Clues family in style. The escape and the recapture of the hostages, the deaths, the what-are-the-Vespers-up-to mystery deepening... everything was so well done, don't you think? And the Vesper mole?! I feel really betrayed - that traitorous swine's the same branch as mine! I trusted that person!

But just one question: if V-3's you-know-who and manipulated Nellie's lizard, then why were the identities of the Vespers allowed to leak out? V-3's spying on the Comm. Center after all.

The Vs are supposed to be working in the shadows and remaining in the dark would have given more power over the Cahills. Not that I want Amy and Dan to be terrified than they already are, but (I say this at the risk of seeming like a total nutter) that's not a sound kidnapping strategy.

And the what-are-the-Vespers-up-to mystery is killing me. I see a lot of connections here and there, like Rome and astronomy. My hypothesis was they're attempting to create some sort of shift in the Earth's orbit and plunge the planet into turmoil, which would explain the weird climate changes in Shatterproof, but I don't get the motive.

The codes make me feel like I'm onto something big, but I'm missing some important connection. It's like that weird feeling when you know the word but it just doesn't roll of your tongue.

Oh wait. Just noticed this: The Antikythera mechanism which was mentioned as stolen in book 4 looks an awful lot like Grace's weird circular drawing in the secret file that came along with the Rapidfire card (334: Fireworks.) This is certainly not a coincidence.

Hi, Zainab.  Careful and intelligent comments as always.  As to your question: if V3 is found suppressing the Vesper identities to the Cahills, then V3’s cover is blown.  So there is no choice.  Honestly, the Vespers fully realize that the Cahills will discover the IDs eventually.  They just figure the Cahills won’t fully crack the mystery until it’s too late.

Greetings, Mr. Peter!

I was walking around a supermarket when this question came into my mind- What's you favorite brand of chocolate? We all know that you're an AWESOME author but what If you weren't an author right now, what do you picture yourself to be? What's your favorite subject when you were young? Does Ned or Ted know that their sister, Sinead, is V3? So, that's all for today, thanks.

Have a great day with your hat,
Alexis.

I’m starting to like fancy imported chocolate bars, you know, those big segmented rectangular ones that cost way too much?  I started with Lindt (which I still like), but I’ve been moving on to try new brands.  When I need a fix of good, old-fashioned chocolate bars, though, I go to my two favorites: Snickers and Skor.  If I weren't an author I’d be an actor.  My favorite subject when I was young was a toss-up between math and English.  And as for Ned, Ted, and Sinead, all I can say is keep an eye out for Book 5, where your answer will be revealed!

Hey, Mr. Peter!

Can you please tell me the 39 Clues Models' real names? I only knew 2 of them- Ian Kabra and Irina Spasky. Thanks for writing those books, they're LEGEN-wait for it, wait for it-DARY! My life won't be complete without the books you wrote, especially T39C. Is there a next series installed for the T39C after the Cahills vs. Vespers? And why does Saladin hates Ian that much? Have you ever eaten Nutella?

That's all and thanks for your time,
Alexis.
Admin Reply:
Hi, Alexis!  Thanks so much for your kind words, which I will carry with me into the last part of a hard-working day!  As for the models, you know two more names than I do!  Alas, I wasn’t involved in any of the photo shoots and have no clue what their names are.  I’m not sure why Saladin hates Ian so much, but I think Ian is more of a poodle person than a cat person, and I think Saladin picks up on that.  Regarding a new series, it’s too early to know.  I’d keep my eye on the Cahill Message Board, because if Scholastic does decide to do this, that’s where they’d announce it.  Nutella?  Yes, I have eaten more than my share of Nutella!

Yes, it’s a volatile and exciting time in Cahill land.  I know, that mission is a knockout, isn’t it?  Really glad you’re enjoying the ride.  There’s a LOT more to come!

Hi Peter! I have just one quick question about the 39 clues. What happened to Kurt? Is he ok?
Admin Reply:
He is doing well in South Africa with his dad and the mines.  But I believe he thinks about Amy Cahill from time to time.

Yuck. I've been SO busy. My best friend is in Texas on a job interview, (Her parents, not my friend!!) and may move there. 🙁 I joined bowling league, and started piano lessons. And I've been rereading the 39 clues. The only GOOD part of my day. I miss summer. I have, like, no time to write. Except at night, when I talk myself to sleep with my ideas. Oh, well. I hope the library gets Shatterproof soon. I'm desperate to read it! ~TempestEagle5
Admin Reply:
Talking yourself to sleep with ideas is an honorable tradition practiced by some of the greatest and most creative people.  These will, in time, blossom into great ideas, so keep it up.  Hope you also keep up your friendship no matter where your friend lives, and good luck with your writing.  You will find time for it.  (And you will love SHATTERPROOF!)

Dear Mr. Lerangis,

1.)What is "poodles" that you are talking about the little dogs or something else?
2.) Are you going to write anymore books?
Admin Reply:
Hello, Ariel/Lily!  Ian and Natalie own some “homing poodles” back home, which are mentioned occasionally in the books.  And yes, I will be writing quite a few more books (see the link at the top of the page re a brand-new writing project called THE SEVEN WONDERS!) but THE DEAD OF NIGHT is my last book in the CAHILLS VS. VESPERS series.  The remaining books will be written by Linda Sue Park and David Baldacci.

Konichiwa Peter- san!
Remember back in april or May when I asked you for writing tips? Well guess what!!!!! I'm getting abook published called The Scar of the Greeks in December 2014...would u read it? Oh and btw the 39 clues authors live far apart. How did you guys come together to write the books?
Admin Reply:
Congrats, Aaminah, that is GREAT news!  Who is publishing it?  And you’re right, many of us do live far apart, and we don’t ever get together to do our work.  We each write independently and rely on our editor to keep each of us on top of all the developments and changes.

Hey Peter,

Still haven't got Shatterproof! Won't for a few more months too 🙁 BUT I have got Infinity Ring! May I just say, I think I found my second favourite author. You’re my first. I love it! Can’t wait for the second book. Anyway, I have a question: are you sure The 39 Clues aren’t real?
http://www.the39clues.com/messageboard/show/32430
I swear Ian is in my school, in my classes. It might be this one big coincidence but I'm not sure. Any advice on this? And also, seen any Vespers lately?
Well I better be off, homework and assignments to get through. -Sigh- See ya!

^.^. Monica .^.^

Hello, Monica.  Well, I always say the proof is in the poodles.  Homing, that is.  Ask him if he has any.
Chris wrote on September 7, 2012 at 8:44 PM
Oh, and another thing. Usually, I thought Dan and Amy were notified about the new Vesper that had been unmasked, but in Shatterproof, Attleboro never told them that ***** ******** was V4. Was this deliberate?
Admin Reply:
Chris, you have sharp eyes indeed.  Yes, you’re right, it was an oversight to include the character who is V4 in the story without revealing that important detail!  Of course, the characters are always in touch and sending emails/texts/etc., so for the purposes of the story, you can assume Amy and Dan do now know the identity.  But you are right — we made a mistake!
Chris wrote on September 6, 2012 at 5:38 AM
Hey!
Well you were right, Shatterproof was great! Can't wait for the next one 🙂
But I have to ask, what on earth has happened about the glass shard that Ted grabbed back in AKR, it seems to have been forgotten about and I was disappointed that it didn't pop up in this latest book. Has it been forgotten?
Admin Reply:
Hi, Chris!  Glad you liked it.  Be sure to tell Mr. Smith.  He’d love to hear it.  As for the shard, Ted didn’t get a chance to use it because of the chaotic escape plan in Book 3.  But great eye for picking that up!
CommanderLucian12-Montego wrote on September 5, 2012 at 6:41 PM
This is getting a little confusing, Mr. Lerangis. Nobody can figure out who V3 is, even from the books, the cards, OR the mission! We narrowed it down to Ian, Evan and Sinead, but some people got one result, and others got a totally different one! Also, the e-book link at http://www.the39clues.com/getyourcards isn't working. Can we get a little help? Please?
Admin Reply:
The link should be working now.  Re the identity of Vesper 3, I’d recommend doing the Book 4 Mission.
Trina wrote on September 5, 2012 at 10:39 AM
Hi Peter! Have you ever visited the fanfiction site for the 39 clues? A quarter of the fandom writes using no punctuation, grammar, or their brains, but a huge chunk of it is really good! Oh and where do you get your caps, if you don't mind me asking?
Admin Reply:
Hello, Trina!  I haven’t looked at the fan sites, because I am simply too swamped with work.  And when I went on tour, I tried to pick up my caps in each city — airport shops, malls, souvenir shops, etc.  Sometimes a book store will give me a cap as a gift!  That’s always cool.
