Hello, Sophia!  Dreamworks, the movie company, announced plans to make a movie of THE 39 CLUES, but they have not begun to cast it.  So we have our fingers crossed, but we’re still not sure if a movie will indeed be made.  It was great to meet you all, and I hope I get a chance to come back someday!

Hi, Jackson!  That is fantastic!  I’ll bet the idea is awesome!  I wish I could look at it, but between writing many books and touring, I’m afraid I only have time for my own work.  Sorry about that — but good luck to you, I’m sure you’ll do brilliantly!

Hi, Mr. Lerangis
I have some questions...

1: when you hear about young authors, what do you think?
2: have you ever read people's stories who are not professional?
3: why did you choose for The Seven Wonders to include the seven wonders?

Thanks!!
Admin Reply:
Hi, Cassie!  I think young authors are the BEST!  Every successful author began as a young writer. Sure, I've read stories by non-professionals, although I’m not able to do it anymore because I need so much time for writing.  As for the Seven Wonders, I have always been obsessed with them for their general awesomeness.  For years I wanted to think of a cool story to include all of them!

Hi Mr. Lerangis,
I have two questions for you?
1. Have you ever been to Portsmouth, Ohio on tour?
2. Have you ever played the video game Final Fantasy?
Admin Reply:
Hi, Ariel! No, i’ve never been to Portsmouth, Ohio.  And I would like to play Final Fantasy but I’ve been scared away from it after watching my sons play.  They are way too good at it.

Dear Mr. Peter,

Today is my conference day and I get really nervous because my teacher keeps tricking me by saying"your in Big Trouble" then saying ' Your a very good student." I don't like it because she's a really good actor and you can fall easily at it !!!! So be careful about people who are great actors(even if you are)!!!!!!

Dear Peter,

We want to thank you for coming to the Hilliard Public Library and talking with our class and other 5th graders from JW Reason Elementary. We really enjoyed your presentation. You were funny, entertaining, and very interesting.

Our class learned a lot about what it takes to become a writer. All that editing looked like a lot but inspired us to become our own writers. We have all read the 39 Clues series and we really can't wait to read the Seven Wonders. Some of us have already checked it out from the library.

We tried to send you personal letters but we could not find an address. This was our next best option. We thank you again for coming, it was a great opportunity.

Your Fans,

Miss Boganwright's 5th Grade Class

You are so very welcome!  I was delighted to visit you all at Hilliard.  You were all so welcoming — and so smart!  Hope to see you again in a future visit to Columbus.  If you'd like to send letters, please feel welcome to do so, c/o Scholastic, 557 Broadway, NY, NY 10025.  Alas, I have a very large backlog of letters, which will grow as I tour through late May, so I may not be able to respond before the end of the school year.  It was thoughtful of you to write me here.  (I am answering you in the airport at Raleigh, North Carolina!)  Many thanks!

Hello,
my name is Adhrit Srivastav and I am a student in 7th grade at Beckendorff Junior High in Katy, Texas. I have a project in English class requiring me to write a letter to an author. I was in the library and I came across your book,"Smilers Bones” which really caught my eye. I really love how the story is about the life of a Greenland Eskimo because I absolutely love nature and learning about other cultures, you clearly explained this in your book which made it so well written to me. I was wondering of you would be willing to take a letter that i would write to you. I know you must be a busy man but it would be amazing if you could reply to my letter.

Thank you,
Adhrit Srivastav
Admin Reply:
Hello, Adhrit!  Thank you so much for writing, and for your kind comments about SMILER’S BONES.  I confess that I have a very large stack of letters waiting on my desk, but I will be touring on-and-off, around the country and the world, until late May.  So of course feel free to write me a letter, but I must warn you that I may not be able to get to it for months.  You may write c/o Scholastic, 557 Broadway, NY, NY 10012, and I will do my best!

Admin Reply:
Three hours??  That's amazing, Moemi, wow!  I enjoyed reading your blog.  Coincidentally I was just explaining to someone today — in fact, just a few minutes ago — what a Foley artist is.  It's amazing how few people know!  I’ve always been fascinated by that, so how cool to see it on your blog!

Aira

Dear, Mr. Lorangis
You came to my school today (Daniels Middle School) I thought that you were really funny and it was really interesting that you were not so good in school and now you are a really popular author. I have a few questions, do any of your characters in your new series resemble you? One more, how old were you when you decided to be an author?
Admin Reply:
Hi, Aira!  Thanks so much for your note.  What a great time I had visiting Daniels!  Yes, I think Jack resembles me as a kid, maybe not so much the way he looks as the way he thinks.  I was 31 when I decided to become a full-time writer.  Before that, I was an actor/singer.

Thank you, Trestiayna, for this lovely note!  You can find THE SEVEN WONDERS at Books & Company, the Greene Shopping Center, 4453 Walnut Street in Dayton.  Their phone number is 937-429-2169.  I signed all my books there, so your book will automatically have an autograph!  I had such a great time at St. Albert!

What a wonderful school you have!  I was so impressed by the great questions, and by the great respect you all showed for one another.  A special group indeed.  I believe the second book will be coming out sometime around November, but I'm not 100% sure.

Hi Mr.Peter

I had read the Seven Wonders and it is Great! I plan to be a author (which I you know) and this is a big secret I plan to write a book called Goodbye, Home and it will be a true story because Me and my friend will do the same things as the same characters do. What do you think?
