Hello again,
hope you might remeber me from my last post.... I'm glad you wrote to me..well just a puzzling question about the Olga sakarova in dedad of night,,,,,,, is this Olga sakarova somewhere or elsehow related to the Olga who was the daughter of the creepy pilot that accompanied young Grace to George S Patton in The vespers rising//////?????? And by the way what is this star map....I have all the cards (available until now) and i still cant figure it out except the patterns that somehow correspond to Gideons ring......Is it just like the one in the preceding serires(THE CAHILL FIRE? JUST FOR SAKE OF IT OR DOES IT REALLY MEAN SOMETHING/////???)
Admin Reply:
Hello, Nick.  That’s quite an observation!  I hadn’t thought of it.  No, the WWII Olga would have been much older than Olga Sakharov.  And I would love to reveal the mystery, but then I would be in big, big trouble!

What is the Operation Trinity book? Is it a card pack? Thanks!

Hello, Maddie.  No, OPERATION TRINITY is a real book.  There’s more info about it at [pl-popup content="http://www.the39clues.com/messageboard/show/19865/" title="Operation Trinity post on the Cahill Command Message Board" width="1000" height="640"]this link[/pl-popup].

Hi Peter,
I have writer's block and how do I get rid of writer's block? Alos, who is the easist charcter to write about in The 39 Clues?
Admin Reply:
Hello, Ariel.  If it’s any consolation, ALL writers suffer writer’s block.  The big secret is, the only way out of writer’s block is to write.  Sometimes chocolate helps.  Or a solitary walk.  Sometimes ideas come when you give yourself some time away from the project.  But really the only way to get through it to sit yourself down until the words come.  It’s not easy, and you stare and stare at the screen, feeling lowly and empty.  But if you give yourself enough time, without distraction, something always happens.  You may jot down a sentence or two, but the next time you start, the words flow freer.  As for the easiest character to write in THE 39 CLUES, it’s Arnold, the Holts’ dog.  Paws down.

I read on the message board that Operation Trinity comes out May 5th but Barnes and Noble and Amazon's sites said it wasn't going to be released until May 8th. Which day does it come out?
Admin Reply:
Hello, Nicole. It's May 8.  May 5 is a mistake.  Thanks for pointing that out!

Dear Peter,
I loved your book on dead of night and having read it almost five times I hate the addiction of reading you have initiated in my nerves. Well I also wanted to ask your opinion about an outline of a mythological fiction series I myself have created and I wanted to share it with you and refer your advice, out of many fiction readers, I have shared it with and they say it is worthwhile..well I have written a few chapters but I just wanted to refer you... Waiting for reply.....:-)
and what a coincidence that the captcha code down this dialogue box reads onstrety Hamilton...
Admin Reply:
Hello, Nick! That is funny about the CAPTCHA code! Many congrats on finishing your outline.  I would not have anywhere near the time to read and adequately comment on your story, alas.  I’m asked to read quite a lot of stories, chapters, proposals, etc., and to be fair I would have to say to all.  So given the demands of my schedule, I simply can't, even to requests from good friends.  But I do wish you all the best, and I look forward to seeing your name in print someday. Many thanks for your kind words regarding THE DEAD OF NIGHT.

Hi,
I'm really excited about you visting Tx. My parents are taking me because they think I've gotten totally nuts, because your coming. So I had question: After book six is done and realsed are you going to continue the 39 clue series?
Admin Reply:
Hello, Amber!  I look forward to meeting you.  It’s still too early to know whether there will be another series, but we have our fingers crossed!

If you can, let me know if i've got this right. In the first book, V1 set amy and dan their first task. He then told them they have four more tasks. They have completed 3. So it seems V1 wants
[expandable title="SPOILER alert! Text hidden."] 1 = Caravaggio's Medusa (Il Milione)
2 = De Virga Map
3 = Astrolabe
4 = Hope Diamond
5= ?????

Hello, Chris!  I can say that up to Book 3 you are on the right track.  But I haven’t read Book 4 and further yet, so who knows what Roland, Linda Sue, and David have in store for us!

Hi, Isaiah! I confess I’m not sure I understand your question. I don’t have anything to do with the administration of the Message Board, so I’d suggest you contact them directly at [pl-popup content="http://www.the39clues.com/info/contact" title="Cahill Command Message Board Administration" width="1000" height="640"]this link[/pl-popup].  Hope this helps.  I will keep an eye out for your mail message.  I am on tour until mid-May, and I’ll be able to begin answering paper mail sometime after then!

Hi Peter,

I finally read The Dead of Night!!! You might be thinking this is a bit late, but my 10th grade exams were going on. They're quite serious, here in India, because they have a big role in deciding our future. Sort of like the SATs, I guess. My storybooks were locked away, including this one which was delivered in the middle of the exams. 🙁

Anyway, I finished it as soon as I could. It totally rocked, except I felt that the quartet took way too much time to figure out the clue. I loved every single moment of it, though. AJT is keeping me on tenterhooks. V-1 is really spooking me out. And the way Amy outwitted Cheyenne/Casper/V-1 was (to borrow V-1's words) "impressive".

[expandable title="SPOILER alert! Text hidden."]And Jake/Amy??? Interesting twist. But I felt bad for Evan. So is it the end of the road for Amian? I hope it is, because I feel the whole thing has been blown up way out of proportion. No offence meant.

Meanwhile, I figured out another thing. *spoiler* V-4 is apparently Sandy "the breeze" Bancroft. "The Breeze" is obviously an allusion to his profession, but 'breeze' can be jumbled up to get Beezer. Was Sandy masquerading as Max Beezer, Astrid's tech guru?

Just one more doubt. So far, we figured out who the Vesper was after reading the book and playing the mission. But how is this going to work for the last book? How will matters be wrapped up? [/expandable]

That's it for now... and thanks for treating me to a great read with The Dead of Night.

Hello, Zainab!  I’m glad I was able to put some enjoyment into your studies, and I’m also very glad you took them so seriously and waited until they were completed.  Wise choice!  It certainly stands to reason that a reader with your advanced skill would figure out the mystery early on — I’m impressed with your observations!  But all I can say about the future is that there are some great surprises in store for you, I promise on behalf of Roland Smith, Linda Sue Park, and David Baldacci.  Thanks very much for your kind words and keen eye.

Peter, thanks for visiting my daughter's school (Hudson Prairie Elementary, in Hudson, WI). She is a huge reader already, and it was great that she got the chance to meet a "real" writer. I can only imagine how many future writing careers have been kick-started because you are visiting schools and reaching out to kids. Way to go!
Admin Reply:
Thanks, Stephen.  As a writer and a father, I greatly appreciate your writing this.  And I can’t begin to describe how lucky I feel to have this opportunity to speak to kids across the country.  My best to you and your daughter, and all the great kids of Hudson Prairie!

Everywhere I look I saw the 39 Clues and I didn't really know what it was about. I didn't really know if I wanted to read it or not, but since you came to our school in Omaha, NE I am so anxious to get the first book.
I also have a question: Do you ever just write... and write... and write and you don't know if it could ever end. Like, in a year you would just complete page 560? That is my problem. Do you have any tips?
Admin Reply:
Hi, Chase!  I’m glad you enjoyed the presentation.  I had a great time at your school.  And as to your question, I know exactly what you’re saying, and that’s why I usually outline my book before I begin.  The outline is a lot shorter than the book, and that’s where I plan out what’s going to happen at the beginning, middle, and end.  So I always know what I’m going to write, and that keeps the end in sight (and the page count from going out of control).

Hey Peter! I've read some of your books lately, and they are so awesome! I can't put them down! I remember when you came to Iowa, for West High, and you are epicly funny. 😀
You are a great person, kind also. The 39 Clues books are awesome too! I seen on the third book, if you turn the book cover a little, you see a face. Does that have to do with anything about the clue? Just wondering. 🙂

Hi, Shane!  Thanks for your kind words.  I really enjoyed meeting you all at West High.  What a great group, an what a great city you live in!  Glad you’re enjoying the books!  That’s amazing about the face.  Which book did you see it on — THE SWORD THIEF or THE DEAD OF NIGHT?  I tried to find it but I couldn’t.  I’ll ask if the artist did that, but I don’t know.  Good eyes!

I'm one of your biggest 39 clues fans! I love The Sword Theif, The Vipers Nest, and Vespers Rising, and I can't wait to read The Dead of the Night! I live in Batavia, N.Y. and I could've went to your first place on your tour, but my Mom wouldn't let me even though it was only a 6 hour ride. Well I was just asking if you could make 1 more stop in Batavia because like I said I'm one of your BIGGEST FANS! Also like I said I've read lots and lots and lots of your books! Even ones that aren't The 39 Clues! I love your books and I REALLY REALLY REALLY want you to come to Batavia! Please!
